CRANK.
Why is it that every once in awhile the baby just has a meltdown for no reason and is just cranky ALL DAY? Today has been like that. He didn't want to be in his car seat. Then, he didn't want to get OUT of the car seat. He is tired, but gets mad when I try to put him to bed for a nap. Seriously cranky all day long! And we're talkin screaming at the top of his lungs with real tears welling up in his eyes. It breaks my heart! What do you mommies do on days like this?? I hate being frustrated with him and losing my patience when CLEARLY he's so unhappy. HOW DO I HANDLE THIS?

6 month shots....
Wish us luck, Maxson is getting his 6 month shots today! :( It's so hard to watch them cry when it happens, but I know that it is what is BEST for him. I'm so grateful for vaccinations. So many diseases have been completely ERADICATED because of the blessing of vaccinations. So many children around the world are dying because they don't have access to vaccines...it makes me so thankful to live in a country where they are so readily available. I know some of you may disagree, but I think it's irresponsible to CHOOSE not to vaccinate when it is such a blessing to have access to them!! {side note: because of the recent surge in people not vaccinating, diseases which were previously nearly wiped off the planet are now being seen again! how scary.} I feel peace of mind knowing Maxson won't get measles. polio. diphtheria. pertussis. hepatitis. the list goes on and on! Anyway, I don't mean to chastise those of you choosing not to vaccinate. My point is that I personally am so THANKFUL that Maxson is able to be vaccinated and be disease-free. I'll let you know how it goes today!

Solid Food SUCCESS!
Up until this point, feeding Maxson solid food has been pointless. He would spit most of it out, get it all over the place, and then want to nurse right afterwards anyways. So, I decided to try a different approach. I had been making my own baby food, but last time I went to the grocery store, I picked up some pre-made organic baby food. I know, I know, I was so excited about making my own baby food...BUT when we got home and I fed him the store-bought carrots, he LOVED them. He ate a ton and it even substituted a nursing session {which is why I say it's a success...I'm so tired of nursing every two hours!!}. So now, I'm feeding him solids twice a day and it replaces a nursing. IT. IS. HEAVENLY. Apparently, he just already doesn't like my homemade baby food concoctions. But if store-bought makes him happy and helps him eat solids, then that's what we'll have to do! Has anyone else had an experience like this? Do you think this is a sign of a picky eater already??

P.S. although he LOVES the carrots, he HATES the peas. It's hilarious watching him make disgusted faces while feeding him! :)
